be approved due to lack of a quorum.
Branch Manager's Report: Diane Cutler
" Announced that the Cascade Library is now an official
polling location.
" Distributed the KDL E-mail Newsletter
" Announced the Volunteer Recognition Tea will be held May 5 from
4 to 6.
" Announced that the EGR library will be closed for the week of
May 2 through May 6. Cascade will be handling their calls and holds
for the week.
" CAS staff is moving the collection to accommodate the decisions
made at the April 18th meeting.
On Saturday April 30, 2005, there was a bomb threat that caused
library staff to evacuate the library. The sheriff's department
responded quickly and located the perpetrator.
Friend's Report: Deb Straub
" There were 75 attendees at the Spring Luncheon. Ron Goodyke
spoke about the fund raising efforts of the community for the library
expansion. Diane and Laura presented the plans for the expansion.
" There will be a collectable book sale on May 7, 2005. Past
collectable sales have been very profitable.
" The perpetual sale continues to generate $1500 to $1600/ month
on a linear space of 100 feet.
Building Committee Report: Chuck reviewed the plans for the media
equipment for the expansion. It will be possible to program the
lighting for the various meetings to be held during the day and
evening so it adjusts automatically for each event. There will be T.V.
monitors at each entry to inform the public of the schedule of the
day's events.
Campaign Finance Committee: Chuck informed us that there were many
requests in the works. Diane presented sample tiles that could be sold
to donors. There are attractive and could have the donors name
inscribed. They could potentially sold for $50, $100, and $200. The
tiles could be displayed in the lobby on the new expansion. The group
discussed the logistics of naming the various boards on stacks of
tiles. The group also discussed the potential artwork that could be
offered for donations.
It was decided that meeting notices would e-mailed in advance.
No further discussions.
Chuck thanked everyone for attending.
