Poverty Exemptions

RESOLUTION # 17/2003

At a regular meeting of the Township Board of the Township of Cascade, County of Kent, State of Michigan, held in the Cascade Historical Museum in said Township on the 26^th day of March 2003 at 7:00 P.M.

MEMBERS PRESENT: Carpenter, Jones, Julien, Kleinheksel, Parrish, Timmons

MEMBERS ABSENT: Goodyke

The following preamble and resolution was offered by Member Carpenter and supported by Member Jones.

RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AMENDING THE POLICY AND GUIDELINES TO GRANT POVERTY EXEMPTIONS

WHEREAS, on December 18, 2002 the Cascade Charter Township Board did establish "Policies and Guidelines to Grant Poverty Exemptions", and

WHEREAS, Resolution #78/2002 did approve the "Policy and Guidelines to Grant Poverty Exemptions" in accordance with the State Tax Commission Bulletin No. 15 of October 30, 2002, and

WHEREAS, the State Tax Commission Bulletin No. 1 of January 8, 2003 has revised these "Policy Guidelines to Grant Poverty Exemptions",

NOW, BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Cascade Charter Township Board approves amending Resolution 78/2002 "Poverty Policy and Guidelines".

The vote being as follows on the foregoing resolution:

YEAS: Carpenter, Jones, Julien, Kleinheksel, Parrish, Timmons.

NAYS: None

ABSENT: Goodyke
