Election Information

February 28, 2012 is the date set by the legislature to hold the 2012 Presidential Primary.  This is a “closed” primary, which means that electors must indicate “in writing” which political party he or she wishes to vote. 

A form will be available for all who vote to indicate their party ballot choice.  Only Republican and Democratic parties are eligible to vote in this primary. 

There are no proposals to be decided at this election, so there are only these two ballot styles available.  The ballot you choose will be recorded in the State Qualified Voter File and held for 22 months after which the information is destroyed.  During that time it is subject to FOIA (Freedom of Information Act).
