Block and Birthday Parties

If you are planning a community block party or birthday party our department will stop by during the event with a fire truck for all to see up close.  We can show and explain the use and importance of the many pieces of equipment, display our gear, and discuss fire safety topics. If you would like us to attend your event call (616) 949-1320.  In order to properly schedule your event, we prefer at least 30 days’ notice.

Independence Day

4th of July is a big event for us.  We have a parade with the community with floats, bikes, and antique cars followed by a street fair with games, rides, entertainment and a fireworks finale.

Halloween

Halloween will be hosted by Cascade Township. Our Fire Department along with the department's mascot Ember will be there! On October 31st, we will be passing out fire safety materials, slickers and, of course, candy!

In 2025, you could find us at:
6 p.m. – Caravelle Village: Intersection of Bechalla & Patagonia
6:30 p.m. – Thornapple Community Church: 3260 Thornapple River Drive
7 p.m. – Hidden Hills: Vinewood, between Aspenwood and Candlewood

Preschool Programs

Preschool programs are classes we teach to preschool children about fire safety. We go to the schools or invite them to our station to share the basics of fire safety. We have found that it is worthwhile to start teaching children as soon as possible and keep teaching them up through their school years.

Car Seat Safety Checks

Car Seat Safety Checks are offered by the Cascade Charter Township Fire Department for residents of Cascade Township.  If you are interested in having your child's car seat checked, please contact the Fire Department at (616) 949-1320 to schedule an appointment.

CPR Training

Classes for adult and infant CPR are available through the fire department.  Class times vary.  Cost is $40.00 per person. This program is coordinated by Captain Michael Bolt. You may contact him by calling (616) 949-1320.

Free Home Safety Checks

Free to all residents of Cascade Charter Township. Check includes creating an exit plan, checking smoke detectors, looking for electrical hazards and other safety concerns.  Contact the Fire Prevention Bureau at (616) 949-1320.

Fire Station Tours

The Cascade Township Fire Department welcomes tours of the station and the trucks.  We ask that you call the station at (616) 949-1320 to set a time to bring your group for a tour.

Patch and Memorabilia Requests

Because of limited quantities and due to post September 11 security concerns, our department and it's personnel will not sell, trade or give away patches, hats, shirts or other memorabilia. Such requests will not be responded to under any circumstances.
