Opportunities to Volunteer in Cascade Township Parks
Cascade Township is seeking volunteers for its VIP (Volunteers in Parks) workdays at Peace Park. Volunteers will work with experienced staff to remove invasive species, including Oriental Bittersweet, autumn olive, Japanese barberry, and multifloura rose. These invasive plants aggressively multiply and crowd out native species, creating dense thickets that migratory birds avoid.
Join us on the first Saturday of each month, from September through March, from 1 to 3 pm at the Grand River Drive parking lot of Peace Park. Supplies, water, and snacks are provided.
The Township offers additional opportunities for families, souts, and community groups to give back by volunteering in the parks. In addition to hosting VIP workdays, Volunteer Coordinator, Jeanine Heibel, facilitates custom volunteer events for various groups, including corporate team-building and youth service projects.
